When you started your blog, did you set any goals? Have you achieved them? Have they changed at all?
I am a novice blogger. I started this blog on March 8th of this year, 89 days ago. When I started, I really didn’t know what I was doing only that I loved to write, tell stories and share my life stories with other people. After several posts, I realized that I needed to focus and have more goals for why I’m blogging. That’s where my “White Rabbit Project” came from, I decided to find my passion or passions in 365 days, make them part of my life and share my journey. With that, I knew that to be successful I needed to have specific goals. I came up with 3 goals to reach for at the end of the 365 days. (Which I mention in an earlier post Day 43…The View From Here)
How am I doing on reaching those goals, you ask? (Even if you’re not asking you know you’re going to get an answer anyway…) For awhile, I was very consistent on writing almost everyday, taking Sundays off for family and rest. Then life happened and at the end of April, I began to slip into a little slump. (You can read about that in the post ….”The Writing Slump”) I have by no means, given up on those goals. However, I am pushing through while trying to keep in mind that I need to write with passion and heart or this my love of writing will become just another task.
The other 2 goals of working on my writing projects (other than my blog) and getting them published, I will admit that I haven’t even restarted those projects. Which is irritating because by my words and sharing my passion with other friends who are writers, they have begun and finished their projects. In fact, 2 of my friends have published their books already and I am still here writing about it. Don’t get me wrong, it’s great that I was able to encourage them and help them restart and finish their goals but I need to put my own words into actions.
