While thinking about the letter “r” and trying to think of what to write about, my mind kept coming up with the word “random.”. For me, the word “random” is what happens when I can’t think straight and I have “writer’s block.” My favorite thing to do when that happens is to sit and let all my random thoughts spill out on to paper. Once it’s out and in ink, I sort through those thoughts to see if there is anything good to write on or if a common theme is there. I love random thoughts…although my husband doesn’t always appreciate it when my random thoughts come out in conversation. It doesn’t happen often but when it does it’s usually because I’m sleep deprived…like today. So, today I am going to let you into my random mind.
Welcome to my randomness:
If you post something impacting and no one reads it was really impacting?
If you post something that you think will make a difference and no one follows it, does it still make a difference?
If a tree does fall in the forest does it make a sound? I’ve always wondered that question. I say it does but how do we really know that?
If you are a leader shouldn’t people follow you? If no one does, are you still a leader?
There is a fresh water river in the Philippines that is supposedly bottomless, is it really bottomless? The earth is round and has a core, it should stop somewhere but nothing in our current technology is able to prove that there is a bottom or… not.
The universe is supposedly infinite, is it really infinite or does it have an end that we can’t see or prove? If it does have an end, what’s there? Does something start where it ends?
The strongest muscle in the human body is the tongue. We know that our words alone can cut and hurt a person down deep inside, is that why emotional wounds are harder to heal than a physical wound?
Being a boss is not the same as being a leader, so why do so many people want to be the boss and not a leader?
Did you know that the left ring finger is the only finger that has a vein that goes directly to the heart? Is that why we wear our wedding ring on that finger?
One last random thought, if its healthier to wake up on our own then why do we use alarm clocks to wake us up so loudly and abruptly?
As I throw these thoughts out on to this post, I wonder if I invoked thought or just made you scratch your head over my randomness?
