With my new role as stay at home wife and mom, we are learning to live more frugal so finding things that are cheaper, healthier and easy to use is “gold!” So, I want to share the ones I find that work. Like this one:
Just last night I found on Pinterest this home microdermabrasion treatment. It’s originally from “One Good Thing” by Jillee. The directions are easy. When I started, I was skeptical because the paste didn’t feel like any microdermabrasion product that I had purchased in the past but as soon as I started rubbing into my skin, I noticed it starting to work. (It began to burn a little.) I only was able to tolerate 3 minutes of the recommended 5 minute treatment but after rinsing the baking soda off, I noticed that my skin looked smoother and brighter but it was the next morning that I felt a difference. I had smooth to touch skin and any blemishes that I had was healing without redness. I’m sold on this cheaper and healthier microdermabrasion treatment. I will also add, that I used a green tea moisturizer after the treatment to help sooth my skin.
The directions below are from her blog. You’ve got to give it a try.
2 Tbsp Baking soda
Start with a clean face (very important, as you don’t want to rub any dirt back into your skin). Make a slightly soupy paste with the baking soda and distilled water. Working in small circles, rub the entirety of your face very lightly. Do this for five minutes (that seem to go on forever, while you contemplate the slight stinging sensation you feel). Do, of course, avoid the eye area. Rinse very well. Revel in your new, clean, glowing skin.
